“Every distinction proves the existence of the “I”

This quote is one of my favourite and profound insights in my life.

I should say that I was blessed to have an opportunity to read one of the greatest books that I have come across in my life – As A Man Thinketh by James Allen. As I was reading this book it was as though the book was talking to me.

This book increased my contemplation multiple times. This increased contemplation though was at times painful did help me to know more about myself and how I read and perceive the world.

It was during one of these contemplation days that I realized that I had managed to compartmentalize almost every element of my life. As I started to contemplate more on this, I realized that at the core were distinctions that I had attributed and hence the compartmentalization. I also saw that each of the distinctions emanated from the image I had about myself. This was the source of my distinctions. This was really a very profound learning and it kind of broke down the entire edifice that I had carefully built over the years. This phase to say the least was the toughest part of my learning journey. However, this journey taught me a great number of things. The quote mentioned above in one sense captures my entire journey on this aspect.
