“Focus On Contributing, Achievements Will Happen“

This quote was an insight that I had years ago. I vividly remember the experience. I was at the office, and it was appraisal time. As a senior HR professional, I was very busy ensuring that the process went smoothly and that we, as an HR team, would be able to manage it effectively. It was also the time when the words “Contribution” and “achievement” were the buzzwords going around in the office and through the ceiling as well.
I was party to different versions of conversations about achievements, contributions, efforts and the like. That day after a full day of work, I was a bit tired and sat at my desk and started to contemplate what’s all these conversations about. It struck me that this was about the results that people were having multifarious opinions.
Later I realised that what is in my control is my contribution and the result of it is genuinely not in my control. How much ever I wish to negate it, it was a truth that was right on my face.
This brought me to my realisation to be more focused on contribution. Over days I managed to write the above quote on this.
