“Live with your truths.”

Truth is very powerful. It has the potential to reset our mindset and thereby our focus and direction in life. This was something that I actually stumbled upon during one of those moments in life when I was going through a rough patch and things weren’t falling in place; in fact, they were falling apart, and it became extremely difficult for me to assimilate the pieces together.

At this typical crossroad moment, coupled with having no ideas about how to move further, my mind was complete turmoil on one side, and on the other, I had no clue as to how I could get out of it. Then suddenly, I got an insight. “Live with your truths.” I was dumbstruck and at the same time did not know what to do. Slowly I tried to decipher this in the context of my life. I realised that there were certain principles, values, traits, habits, behaviours and ways of thinking which had become very natural to me and lodged deep inside me.

These were those truths that defined me. There was an intricate weave between that also helped me to function. To begin with, I started to accept myself, which included my principles, values, traits, habits, behaviors, likes, and dislikes. The best part was that whenever I completely accepted these truths, I started to feel a lot of silence, space, and happiness inside me. Whenever the demonstrations of these happen, there is no conflict inside me about it. This did two things. One, is the acceptance. Second is wisdom that dawned with acceptance and the changes that brought within me. My responses and reactions to my external world underwent a complete overhaul. My outlook towards life became more realistic, empathetic, and positive. This journey still continues.
