“Clarity Will Be Evident When We Clear the Dust”

As I walk through memory lane, I can clearly see moments when I thought I lacked clarity. At that time, I believed I needed better advice, stronger strategies, or sharper thinking. I assumed the problem was outside me. But today, when I reflect deeply, I see something else. The issue was not the absence of clarity. It was the presence of dust.

Dust is subtle. It settles quietly. It does not announce its arrival. One layer is an old fear. Another layer is an unexamined belief. A third layer is someone else’s expectation that we accept without question. Over time, these layers accumulate. And then we say, “I am confused.”

When dust gathers on a mirror, we do not question the mirror. We simply wipe it. But when dust gathers on our thinking, we question ourselves. We doubt our capability. We assume we are not clear enough, not decisive enough, not wise enough.

In my own journey, breakthroughs did not come because I added more knowledge. They came when I removed what was unnecessary. A limiting belief. A self-imposed label. A fear of judgment. Each time I cleared a little dust, something interesting happened; clarity was already there. It did not need to be created. It needed to be revealed.

Clarity is not loud. It is calm. It does not rush. It waits patiently beneath the noise we create.

As a coach, this realisation has shaped my approach deeply. I no longer see my role as someone who provides answers. I see myself as someone who helps clear the dust. When the dust settles and is gently removed, people see their own path. And when clarity comes from within, it carries conviction, confidence, and courage.

Perhaps the question is not, “Why am I not clear?”
Perhaps the better question is, “What dust am I willing to clear today?”
