“Informal personal comments may hurt the most.”
I have had multiple experiences in life when some casual or informal comment from my parents, relatives, or friends has impacted me and more importantly, hurt me. It was one of those comments one day that my relative made in a very sarcastic manner that I really got hurt very badly and that too the comment was made in front of many of my other relatives at a function I was attending. It happened in the morning and I remember that I was suffering from this hurt for almost the whole day. A tear or two also dropped from my eyes. I was not in the mood for anything.
This is when I realized that informal or casual comments are dropped most unexpectedly, and timing invariably catches us unaware. They hurt. And these comments stubbornly stay with us and also slowly start impacting our perceptions about the person who commented. For me in the earlier stated instance, it was moving towards a negative feeling.
